10 Life Changing Shortcuts for Windows
Alt + tab : Aren’t you sick of moving the arrow up and down, and up and down again, to switch the software you use for another one ?Aren't you bored of the ugly Windows bar on the bottom of the screen displaying only 3 letters of the name of the software you're using as soon as you got several windows opened.Well, here is a shortcut made for you! Press alt then tab will make appear a little box on the middle of your screen displaying icon representing the software currently in use, then press tab while keeping alt pressed to pass to the next icon. Finally release the alt button to make the program you want displayed. This is a quick and easy way to switch from one program to another one in an eye blink.
SHIFT+DELETE: You all know the little delete key, but this Shorcut is a pretty vicious one.Alone it doesn’t delete the file but only puts it in the trash waiting for you to empty the trash before it is REALLY deleted. With the SHIFT+DELETE shortcut no more doubt, once deleted, it is for real!!No need to worry about the trash anymore (only worry if it starts to smell ^^)but be careful not to delete things by accident .
Ctrl + Z: This one is my favourite!! How many times did I use it to save me from my own stupidity? This shortcut allows you to cancel the last action(s) you did on your computer. You deleted by mistake something, Ctrl + Z and it is back to its original place. This can be a real lifesaver shortcut.
Alt + Enter: Nice!! As I wrote this article I discovered a new shortcut. This one can be really handy in some situations.Ever wonder how big this file is, want to know what kind of file it is or simply want to know a little more about it ? Then this shortcut is for you.It allows you to see the properties of the selected file and then rename it, specify the program to open it with , and a lot more...
Alt + esc: This shortcut is pretty close to the previous one and quite complementary. Indeed it allows you to switch to the last used windows. So while you are using a program, switch to another window with the alt + tab. And If you want to come back on the previous window, press the alt + esc shortcut one time.Press several times to Cycle through windows in the order that they had been opened.
Ctrl + C: I'm pretty sure you already know this one , but how could we live without the famous copy and paste shortcut that allows you to select something, copy it in order to "save" it in the computer for a future use .However, be careful, you can only copy one thing and if you copy something else the first copied item will be forgotten.
Ctrl + V: The partner of the previous shortcut , once something is copied if you want to paste it on another Window all you have to do is select the Window where you want it to be pasted and the press : CTRL + V.
Ctrl + A: You want to select a big number of items on your computer and you don't want to spend hours clicking on each single icon. This Shortcut will help you save time. If you want to select all the items of the windows just press CTRL + A and all the items will be selected and highlighted in blue. A little tip: once all the items are selected you can unselect items by clicking on them while pressing the ctrl key.
Windows Logo + D: If there is something that I hated on Windows XP it is that you had to close every single windows to access your desktop.Or so did I believe. In fact all you have to do to directly access to your desktop easily is to press those 2 keys: Windows Logo + D
The Windows logo: Here it is! Like the nose on a face, but nobody knows what it is for ... Well it is there for something I can assure you, and it can even be handy! The Windows logo on your keyboard allows you to display the windows menu and, therefore, easily access to your programs, Shortcuts...
